Children from Sydney Catholic Schools including St Aloysius Cronulla and Holy Family Menai attended the event’s Primary School Day at Sydney Town Hall.

They heard from authors Morris Gleitzman and Katrina Nannestad, illustrator Chris Riddell and poet A.F Harrold at an event MCed by author Oliver Phommavanh.

Evalina, from Year 3 at Holy Family Menai, attended as part of her school’s Newman group, and bought two books for Katrina Nannestad to sign.

She said her favourite books were historical fiction and comedy, and that she enjoyed writing funny stories.

“Normally about dolphins. There’s lots of comedy in them, and jokes,” she said.
